REAL WEDDING - MELANIE & DAVID

The divine Melanie & David who we worked with at Noosa Beach, QLD in September 2009 are featured in the current issue of Bride to Be Magazine In true sentimental fashion, David proposed to Melanie whilst holidaying in Hawaii. After choosing a restaurant that served the same wine as her late father's Marlborough winery, "Whitehaven" , David proposed on the beach after dinner under the moonlight. Mel's stunning gown was by Helen English, of course a favorite given my own gown in 2001 was by the same designer. Elegant, feminine and classic, Melanie looked beautiful.
A Sculpted Leaf designed Melanies flowers. The brides bouquet was a teardrop of white phalaenopsis orchids with fuchsia pink centres.
The bridesmaids wore soft & floaty dresses perfect for the beach setting.
The ceremony took place on the beachfront at Casuarina Garden. The girls carried bouquets with splashes of fuchsia vanda orchids.
Kim from Events of Noosa co-ordinated the event. An intimate gathering of 42 guests attended the beachside nuptials under a canopy of trees with hanging paper lanterns.
An emotional ceremony in Noosa was even more special for Mel given the place was a frequent travel destination for her family.
The weather was perfect with just a light breeze on such a special day.
Mel & her Mum share a moment together to treasure from the day.
It was great to have so many options for photos with Mel & Dave on the day. We choose 3 - beachfront, under the backlit canopy of trees that resembles a "hidden rainforest" and at some of the cute parisian style cafes on Hastings street.
Picture Point Terraces , a private penthouse location was chosen for the reception. Tables were set up on the balcony overlooking Noosa. With all glass doors open wide and flowing chiffon curtains creating a softer look the result was dreamy. The wine was extra special with special vintages of Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc & Pinor Noir made in memory of Mel's father Greg with his name on the label. Taittinger was served for champagne toasts on the evening.
Vases were filled with tropical leaves and masses of white cymbidium orchids and created an elegant arrangement on each table. Noosa Catering were hired for the evening, we love these heart shaped canapes served on the terrace.
Cute LOVE letters with an arrangements of tealights added romance to the dancefloor. The wedding cake was a 2 tier white chocolate & raspberry mudcake finished with a white chocolate ganache and white chocolate panels by Cake Conversations.
Watching the sun setting over the ocean, stealing a kiss at the table and toasting to new beginnings was a joy to be present at.
Thank you for choosing us to share your day Mel & Dave, wishing you both all the best for an amazing future together as husband & wife, SugarLovex
