REAL WEDDING - TESSA & BEN

On a beautiful Autumn Day in May 2011 we covered a lovely wedding for clients Tessa & Ben. Ben designed a stunning engagement ring for his proposal to Tessa on a marina in Nelson's Bay, NSW. We were thrilled to hear Bride to Be Magazine were running a story on their wedding in their current February issue (on sale now)
The wedding stationery was designed by the bride's sister Lucy Bartlett
Tess wore an elegant full length lace gown designed by Lisa Gowing
To compliment the vintage detailing of Tessa's dress, the bridesmaid dresses were soft lilac silk dresses with a silvery tone by Fleur Wood
The couple choose St Augustines Church in Neutral Bay for their traditional ceremony
The light in Centennial Park for their couples photo shoot was divine. David Austin roses were chosen for the bouquets by Portobello Rose
The grooms suit was by Hugo Boss & wedding rings by Diamond Traders
A signature SugarLove moment in the parklands with Tessa & Ben. The whole day resonated the "simple & elegant" theme that Tessa & Ben chose for their day
The colours of the leaves were so rich in the park at this time of year we could not resist having a bit of fun with our own "petal throw"
The couple chose Centennial Park Dining for their elegant dinner for 114 guests. Tables were named after their favourite places. Pastry Consultant Sebastian Stephanno designed a tiered chocolate mudcake with cointreau ganache & raspberry coulis which was served with a quenelle of cream & fresh strawberries.
Guests enjoyed the night listening to the fabulous tunes of The Baker Boys
David Austin roses, tulips, lisianthi, dahlias & hyacinth on mirrored bases were surrounded by tealight candles to create a simple classic centerpiece for the guests.
It was lovely to cover another wedding at Centennial Park Dining and Tessa & Ben's autumn wedding was just what we needed after a busy summer wedding season. The perfect time of year for choosing Centennial Park and escaping for that one month honeymoon break to Italy!! We wish you the very sweetest of lives together & thank you for choosing SugarLove...

THE GLAMOUR OF FILM

We were so happy to be asked by recent SugarLove bride Louise to cover some of her portraits on film. This is one of our favourite pics shot on the Mamiya Medium Format camera with black/white film. You can see more of Louise's day in an upcoming issue of Bride to Be Magazine.

LOVE LOVE LOVE - EQUAL RIGHTS

For over 12 years SugarLove has been producing photography all over the world with incredible clients. We believe that the best images we have taken have combined the elements of three things - great lighting, great timing & great people. Letting go of fear and truly existing in the moment is what extraordinary images are all about. Underlying all of this is the one thing that drives us all....LOVE. We have been living and breathing it into our work for a long time and finally are so honoured to have been chosen to cover the wedding day of our first same sex couple in 2012.
May the recognition of LOVE be the most important decision defining the right to marriage for us all. (Pic c/o Tumblr photographer unknown)

REAL WEDDING - ASHLEY & JOSH

Ashley & Josh had a private wedding ceremony at the beautiful Bay Cottage in Palm Beach, Sydney but hired us to cover their follow up party the next day with family & friends at The Boathouse just a short drive away.
The sweet details at the couples hideaway escape on the Northern Beaches.
The pittwater, the perfect partner...what more could you ask for?
White blooms & cut crystal are always a classic centrepiece.
And to the party dress for celebrating with family & friends the day after i-do
A quick rehearsal dance on the jetty for Ashley & Josh as captured by our lovely senior photographer Lauren (soon to be based in Italy!!)...great news for all our lovely 2012/2013 European clients so make sure you let us know your dates early this year & next!
Just enough time for a best girlfriends photograph before the evening party begins
Every corner of the Boathouse is a photo shoot, we love working there
"Just Married" indeed for Ashley & Josh on this perfect summer day
Time to celebrate with the arrival of drums & delicious drinks & canapes
Some of the couples dearest friends arrive for the evening
The party quickly flows out onto the jetty under the picture perfect sky
We had such a lovely time working on their day. Ashley sent us a note after the wedding to say "You have been such as pleasure to deal with and i am really pleased we chose SugarLove to take our photos". The feeling is mutual Ashley so best wishes to you both for the future!!
And lastly...life would never be complete without macarons & these were some of the best we have ever tasted!!
